Mobile POS Transforms Transactions & Improves the Guest Experience

Nov 21, 2018

Technology has revolutionized many aspects of our everyday lives. It has also changed the way hospitality venues approach the guest journey. For food-service environments, evolving guest demands and expectations have largely driven the shift toward efficiency and convenience while enhancing the guest experience.

The point-of-sale experience is constantly serving up software and hardware systems guaranteed to bring incremental revenue. Recently, mobile POS has risen in popularity as it helps deliver on the guest experience while also driving increased transactions. In fact, according to an annual report by Hospitality Technology magazine, more operators are looking to deploy mobile POS than last year, 37% compared to 28%.

“Since mobile POS helps service staff provide a better guest experience by being more attentive than they would otherwise, guests come away with a better overall impression and perhaps spend a little more,”

- James Slatter, Managing Director for EMEA

Mobile convenience is the name of the game for many guests, and whether by the pool or on the golf course, mobile ordering allows service staff to be more productive and meet guests’ needs more quickly. For restaurants, from quick-service to fine-dining, the combination of mobile tablets with a user-friendly interface can mean a more efficient and accelerated service, resulting in more tables being turned in a given period.

Control and convenience are priorities for today’s consumers and point of sale technologies are responding with handheld devices. With clear benefits for guests and operations alike, it is easy to understand why mobile POS technology has gained rapid growth and will only continue to strengthen in the years ahead.
