Optimizing Guest Engagement with an Integrated PMS: A Complete Game-Changer for Resorts

Recognized for their impeccable resort finishes and unique coastal activities, the Blockade Runner Beach Resort has been a long-standing supporter of Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina. Its journey of over 50 successful years with an exclusive focus on guest engagement has yielded a significant following of loyal guests. The boutique resort has always embraced the latest technology advancements to ensure continued quality of service to their esteemed guests. To accomplish this, Blockade Runner turns to partner Agilysys to leverage a suite of cutting-edge hospitality solutions that not only enhance guest interactions, but also increase the resort’s revenue opportunities.

"We are able to expand the level of guest spend per stay in a much better, more efficient manner using Agilysys’ suite of solutions,” said Nicolas Montoya, General Manager at the Blockade Runner Beach Resort. He added that the state-of-the-art solutions have enabled creation of profiles for guests, which helps the resort interact with guests on a personal level. Configuring pre-arrival enhancements that best suit the guest based on their past experiences and preferences has been a complete game-changer and added to the resort’s incremental revenue.

Their use of a smart and integrated property management software has helped optimize guest engagement with customized offers. They can now formulate promotional strategies based on pre-arrival guest data, combining PMS with data analytics.

Apart from their indispensable property management solution, Blockade Runner also uses an award-winning point-of-sale at their dining outlets, and an electronic document management solution to streamline their front desk and back-of-the-house operations and workflows. To secure payment transactions, the boutique resort also added one of the industry’s first PCI-validated and point-to-point encrypted payment gateways, reducing the potential for a data breach and ensuring hassle-free payments for their guests.
