Agilysys will provide Fitzers InfoGenesis™ POS, Eatec® Solutions and mPOS
WARRINGTON - 01 July 2010 - Agilysys (Europe) Limited, part of Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGYS), a leading provider of innovative information technology and hospitality software solutions, has been selected by Fitzers Catering Group (Fitzers) in Dublin to provide a technology solution to The Convention Centre Dublin, a prestigious new development on the banks of the city’s River Liffey.
The Convention Centre Dublin is Ireland's first purpose-built international convention and event venue and is positioned to become the leading premium mid-sized convention centre in Europe. The venue is configured to accommodate conferences from 8 to 8,000 participants in 22 purpose-built meeting rooms. It includes a 2,000-seat auditorium, 4,500 square metres of exhibition space and banqueting facilities for up to 3,000 guests.
The relationship between Fitzers and Agilysys dates back to August 2007. Explains Padraic Clarke, Financial Controller at Fitzers: "The Agilysys solution impressed Fitzers with its user-friendliness, the fact that it provides real-time information and its ability to run in an offline mode."
When, in 2009, Fitzers secured the contract to supply The Convention Centre Dublin, it had no hesitation in selecting Agilysys to supply the hospitality POS technology. In addition to rating Agilysys for its knowledge and experience of technology and hospitality operations, Padraic comments: "Having used Agilysys for 3 years, we know what the system can do. It made sense to go with something familiar that is running well elsewhere."
The new contract includes the supply of 30 wireless PC-based touchscreen EPoS terminals manufactured by Agilysys’ hardware partner, J2 Retail Systems, and 10 mobile socket handheld EPoS devices including Chip & PIN capability. These will be deployed at The Convention Centre Dublin. Installed software will include InfoGenesis™ POS, Eatec® Solutions and mPOS, the handheld point-of-sale solution that can be used to serve customers speedily and efficiently.
Agilysys won this contract in competitive tender against two local companies. Concludes Padraic Clarke: "We know Agilysys as an effective business partner and we work well together. The company’s technology is tried-and-tested and delivers high performance at a cost-effective price."
