IKEA Speaks on Behalf of Agilysys at 2006 Retail Systems Conference & Exposition

Retailer Discusses Its Innovative Approach to Increasing Customer Service

CHICAGO (May 16, 2006) –  IKEA, the world’s leading home furnishings retailer, will speak on behalf of Agilysys, Inc., (NASDAQ: AGYS) a leading provider of enterprise computer technology solutions, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23 at the 2006 Retail Systems Conference & Exposition held at Chicago’s McCormick Place. 

Mike Hawk, retail systems business analyst with IKEA, will host the session titled “Increasing Customer Service with Line Busting” where attendees will learn how the retailer implemented a mobile point of sale solution to help manage its peak periods of demand without adding costly new terminals or hiring additional labor. 

Hawk’s session aims to provide the audience with an overview of how IKEA utilized the NextPosition™ Software.   This is a proprietary mobile and wireless software technology from Agilysys Enterprise Solutions Group (ESG) that enables retailers to turn any part of their store into a point of sale.  Retailers will also learn how the NextPosition Software allows store managers to assist customers with pricing, to speed checkout by creating full customer orders on the floor and to print receipts inside or outside the store.
